FAQ About Early-Alert Bed Alarms
How is “Early-Alert” different from standard bed alarms?
Standard pads typically alert after weight is removed. Early-Alert is designed to alert just before standing, giving caregivers earlier notice when it matters most.
Where do I place the bed sensor pad for the best results?
Place the pad on top of a flat mattress (or mattress cover) and under a fitted sheet, positioned at hip height and on the exit side of the bed. Securing it tightly helps reduce nuisance alarms.
How do I reduce false alarms?
For over-mattress systems like Early-Alert, use the included bed clips and bands, and ensure the pad is secured and covered by a fitted sheet. Proper placement (beneath the hips, on the exit side) is key.
What alert modes does the caregiver pager have?
The pager is portable (pocket-friendly with a clip) and can be set to high volume, low volume, or vibration-only. It also includes a wall-mount bracket option.
What is the range of the pager device?
We measured in open spaces, and it should cover a minimum of 400 feet (122 meters). Note that indoors, the building layout and materials will affect the distance you can receive.
How long do the sensor pads last (lifespan)?
Our Early-Alert sensor pads are designed to last about 15 months. (In the bed + chair set, the pads are designed around the same lifespan.) We recommend replacing pads after their lifespan to maintain reliable detection and accuracy.
How does the chair alarm work (in the combo set)?
The chair sensor pad alerts the caregiver right after the person stands up from a chair/recliner/wheelchair. It connects wirelessly to the same monitor.
Can I connect more than one device to the same pager?
Yes. One pager can be paired with up to 3 compatible devices—for example bed sensor pads, chair sensor pads, and/or a call button—so you can expand coverage without adding another monitor.
