FAQ About Large Bed Alarm
Why choose the Large (20" x 30") bed sensor pad?
The 20" x 30" pad provides more coverage than standard-size pads, which can be especially helpful for active sleepers or anyone who shifts positions a lot—so the system can still detect a bed exit reliably.
Is this an “Early-Alert” bed alarm?
This is our Standard Alert style alarm: it alerts after standing up (weight removed). If you need an alert before the person is fully out of bed, our Early-Alert system is designed for that earlier notification.
How do I install it and where should the bed sensor pad go?
Place the 20” x 30” sensor pad on top of a flat mattress (or mattress cover) and under a fitted sheet, positioned beneath the user’s hips on the exit side of the bed. Secure it so it won’t shift, then test the pager.
How can I reduce false alarms?
Use the included anti-slip stickers, keep the pad under a fitted sheet, and double-check during daily bed-making that the pad is still positioned under the hips. Proper placement and securement are the biggest keys to fewer nuisance alarms.
Can I connect more than one device to the same pager?
Yes. One pager can be paired with up to 3 compatible devices—for example bed sensor pads, chair sensor pads, and/or a call button—so you can expand coverage without adding another monitor.
What is the range of the pager device?
We measured in open spaces, and it should cover a minimum of 400 feet (122 meters). Note that indoors, the building layout and materials will affect the distance you can receive.
What is the sensor pad lifespan?
The large bed sensor pad is designed to last 12 months. The sensor-pad batteries are not rechargeable or replaceable, so the pad should be replaced at the end of its lifespan for reliable detection.
